He hopes to have an easier time in Arkham, where there are more people desperate enough to hire him — and more speakeasies to supply him with alcohol.
Notorious among the academic community for a sardonic sense of humor, Dr. Ghali is a renowned expert in artifacts of pre-Ptolemaic Egypt. She constantly travels between museums and universities both domestically and abroad in pursuit of new obscurities and knowledge. Her most recent excursion in Canada proved to be a bust, and now a promising collection of artefacts in Arkham has drawn her attention.
Lila Anne grew up in Nowhere, New Hampshire, but is determined not to let it show. Drawn to bright lights and big cities from a young age, Lila Anne is moving to Arkham in what she hopes will be the first step in her journey to High Society. She has little to rely on other than her wits and good looks, and sheer force of will. Luckily, that’s usually more than enough.
I’m giving this game 5 stars for the simple reason that the ambience while playing the game is quite reminiscent & matches that of a multitude of late night pen & paper gaming experiences with family and friends.

Really excellent interactive fiction — totally recommended. Evocative writing, great replay value, excellent presentation. The achievement-style clues are a nice touch, and totally love the way the narration changes - often subtly - to reflect the POVs of the different protagonists. The suspense escalates at just the right pace, and choices feel intuitive and consequential, never arbitrary.
